Man, I dunno how to feel about Daibuster

Foreword, I am not a reviwer, I've never written a long-form review of anything before. There's just something about this series, however, that I feel like I'd be remissed to not try and talk about it at length. Spoilers for both Gunbuster and Daibuster abound, read at your own risk.
