it's become apparent to me that after a couple weeks of playing the deluxe mod for animal crossing gamecube, this game is going to be a daily driver for me for quite some time. every so often i just find myself getting obsessed with animal crossing gamecube all over again, and this just enhances that. that, combined with running across some older blogs of some people playing wild world, some from even 2011, it made me want to make one documenting my own gameplay this time. i've played this series for 20 years, but the most i've ever documented it was my posts to my old switch screenshot/video-hosting twitter account. and, well, i haven't used twitter in basically two years now, and i'm not using tumblr anymore either. so i guess i'll do it here.

for a bit more preamble about the town. i used ACSE for establishing my town before upgrading it to deluxe. since i had an e+ file i was playing rather extensively in 2023 that would no longer be compatible with the deluxe mod, i didn't want to have to start completely over when i was doing all of this stuff in recent memory. so, i generated my file with the furniture i was using in my house, enough bells to fully expand my house (i've done this legitimately so many times in so many playthroughs across different games, don't judge me), and some of my favorite villagers from basegame acgc. i also gave myself the gyroid face, as i've always wished it was permanent (this decision lead to some oddities, which i'll get to later). aside from that, it's basically just a normal playthrough of animal crossing, just with some additional stuff added thanks to this mod.

town was (properly) started on 7/12/25, this blog was started 7/29/25. i'll be recapping earlier days with the best of my ability to recall them based on screencaps i took.
